Won Park: Origami Master Who Lives in a Garbage Truck

Posted by & filed under artists.

Won Park, a master of oragami, created some amazing dollar origami pieces.  He also lives in a really cool garbage truck.  I know what you’re thinking… it must be kinda gross living in a garbage truck.  But this is no ordinary garbage truck.  It was totally converted into a really swanky mobile home.  I wouldn’t mind living in the truck or taking it on the road sometime.

Check out the gallery below for more origami and pictures of his home/garbage truck.

this was never a garbage truck it is a unicat purpose built vehicle.

have a look on the company website http://www.unicat.net

this one in particular is the EX63-HDM / MAN TGA 6×6

and if you think the interior windows do not match the exterior views take note that the roof section lifts .

Some say that is not a garbage truck because there are no windows that you can see on the outside. The top of that truck goes up and down to reveal windows.

Some say it is illegal to burn or tear paper money – there is none of that related to Origami. Origami is only folding money or paper or napkins, etc.

I am a Southern California artist and I think that your approach to art is extremely creative and precise!
    Keep up the good work!

Won Park is my neighbor… has a book out on his origami work… does not live in a garbage truck but our condo… is a Commercial Artist by trade, a wonderful baker, human being, into replicas/weapons, and designer of beautiful steampunk pieces made of antique stopwatches. He lives in Honolulu, Hawaii (in a condo)… right across the hall from me. His origami work is truly amazing!

I got an e-mail with pictures of this man’s artwork of folding dollar bills and I was absolutely astounded! What incredibly beautiful art. I’m really surprised I’ve never heard of him. I wonder if he has ever been on the west coast. His garbage truck home is very cool inside. I must say, I would have a very hard time visualizing a garbage truck that looked like that on the inside!
