If you’re in the Bay Area get yourself over to 941 Geary Gallery asap. Through the 26th of February you will be able to catch Jesse Hazelip’s show: The Belle of the Brawl. From the gallery’s site:

941Geary is pleased to present The Belle of the Brawl, a solo exhibition of new work from Oakland-based artist, Jesse Hazelip.  In The Belle of the Brawl, the artist continues his ongoing examination of the sociopolitical patterns of repetitive historical mistakes.  As the dust settles from the war in Iraq, the anxiety of crisis looms large over Afghanistan.  The artist seeks to address the pending inevitability of violence and destruction through a visual examination which will include iconographic imagery from the artist’s earlier work: herons, buffalo and WWII weaponry, while introducing a new assembly of symbols and motifs.   The exhibition will feature over 20 mixed media works on found wood as well as a transformational approach to 941Geary’s 3,000 square foot space with a 16’ x 46’ ft installation piece and a second clandestine installation to be unveiled at the opening reception.

Tomorrow at Pops Bar in the Mission is the monthly installment of Cheap Art Show. Curated and organized by Pops staple - Tuffy. Always a good time with art by a lot of local artists, known and unknown. The emphasis is on Cheap. All art is priced at $50 or lower, as well as super cheap drink specials all night. Tomorrow February 9th. 5pm – 10pm at Pops Bar (24th @ York)

Introducing our newest creation: Buff Monster Playing Cards. Legendary artist Buff Monster created custom artwork for 52 playing cards plus Jokers. These are all-plastic, waterproof playing cards held in clear, reusable plastic case. We’ll be releasing these cards at Comic-Con, and they’ll be available at our online store soon!

The Mark Bode “Wanna Ride?” Jigsaw Puzzle is one of the four new releases from Tools of the Trade. We will be releasing these new toys at Comic-Con, and they will be available in our online store soon. Check out this video where Mark Bode takes you to the original “Wanna Ride?” painting in San Francisco.

ABV Gallery will be hosting the 3rd Living Exhibition for The Tenderloin Project in Atlanta, Georgia. The show will open on Friday, June 25th with an artist reception and will run until July 23rd. On display will be 49 photographs from the project by the project’s creator, Sean Desmond, along with a dozen collaborative art pieces by artists such as Mike Giant, Apex, Greg Mike, Oliver Black, Hugh Leeman, Mark Bode, D Young V and more. Original photographs, silk screened prints and a range of garments produced by SF-based clothing brand, Black Scale will all be available at the show.

A poster from the project will be available in an edition of 100, signed and numbered by Mike Giant and Sean Desmond.
