San Francisco’s coolest artists create their art in Safehouse Artist Studios located in the SOMA district at 80 Langton Street.
Safehouse is unique in the sense that it is part art studio, part atelier. The art studio houses such talent as Christine Macternan, Layil Umbralux, Ryan Lee, Karla Ortiz, Zach Oldenkamp and Pat Matthews. The atelier is a place created by artists who are trying to close the gap between fine and commercial art. Both the school and the studio aims to act as a safe haven for artists/designers alike to express and share ideas and to also contribute to the growing art scene in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Safehouse is owned and run by artists Jeremy Mann and Carl Dobsky, both classically trained painters. Check out some of Jeremy’s art at John Pence Gallery located on 750 Post Street this Friday June 29th from 6 to 8 pm.
